Hello! My name is Rechell and I am a 3rd year masters of counseling student. As a therapist, I want to support my clients using a genuine, non-judgmental and collaborative approach. My goal when working with clients is to establish a safe, trusting and open environment to facilitate the process of growth and healing. I believe that an individuals thoughts influence how they behave in distressing situations. Once we are able to identify such thoughts we can work together to develop adaptive, healthy responses. I aim to empower my clients, allowing us to work together in order to overcome challenges. I am highly interested in working with children, teens and adults in my practice. My therapeutic approach is highly integrative and structured, which allows clients to work on problems in the present. This allows clients to use the tools and methods learned in session, in their everyday lives. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and attachment theory provide the basis of my approach. I am also interested in additional training in modalities such as narrative therapy, mindfulness, play therapy, sand tray therapy and art-based therapy.
Rechell is available on a sliding scale. Please contact Balance Psychological Services for more information.
